Scholarships

The SCNF manages the following scholarships in order to accomplish its mission.
Evelyn Johnson Entrekin Scholarship
This scholarship honors the late Evelyn Johnson Entrekin, a well-known leader of public health nursing in South Carolina.  She served with the SCDHEC for over 20 years and led her district to become the first in the state to receive national accreditation.  Funds for the Evelyn Johnson Entrekin endowment come from her estate and contributions are designated for individuals pursuing a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
Mary Ellen Hatfield School Nursing Scholarship
The purpose of the SCSNCC scholarship endowment is to provide a scholarship to a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Practical Nurse currently practicing nursing in a SC school setting who desires to further his/her education.  The South Carolina School Nurse Conference Committee establishes the criteria for the scholarship and names the recipients of the awards.  For further information and applications, please contact Cathy Young Jones at (803) 898-0850.
Nurses Care Scholarships: Graduate and Undergraduate
The Nurses Care Specialty License Plate Initiative was created in 2002 to provide an opportunity for nurses and the supporters of nursing to make a contribution to the profession and to increase the public’s awareness of the contribution of nurses.  “Nurses Care” specialty license plates are available from the Department of Motor Vehicles.  The proceeds are used to fund both graduate and undergraduate scholarships.
