Recruiting Process
Recruiting for internships at Mutual of Omaha takes place on select university campuses from September through January of each year.
To be considered for an internship, applications must be submitted online.
Qualification Requirements
To qualify as an intern, students must:
- Be in good academic standing and a full time student
- Be enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or graduate degree program
- Meet minimum qualifications or requirements of the position
- Be a United States citizen; permanent resident; recipient of Asylee or refugee status by the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service; or temporary resident under the 1986 amnesty programs

As an intern, you’ll have opportunities to connect with professionals and interns across the company through a variety of networking and teambuilding activities. Interns participate in career development events to build business acumen, self-awareness and professionalism. There are also opportunities to learn from executives about how they developed themselves to become the company’s leaders.
In addition to real world experience, you’ll be able to participate in a variety of events and activities. This includes volunteering with community organizations; participating in activities through the Omaha Chamber of Commerce; and joining Mutual’s Emerging Leaders Network.

- Be a graduating high school senior
- Be enrolling for the first time at a college or university as a FULL-TIME degree-seeking freshman in the fall.
- Be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident or an eligible non-citizen
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale
- Demonstrate leadership skills, and significant financial need (Pell Grant eligible)

Google Scholarship Program
July 2, 2012The Google Scholarship Program offers funds to students studying computer science or computer engineering who are juniors or seniors in college, or pursuing a Master’s or PhD. Selected scholars will be invited to an all-expenses paid trip to the Google Headquarters in California.
General HCF Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be of Hispanic background
- Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year
- Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time for the upcoming academic year
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Must demonstrate financial need
Google Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Must be pursuing a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree, or a degree in a closely related field (such as Software Engineering)
- Must maintain a record of strong academic performance
- Must be entering junior or senior year of undergraduate study or enrolled in a graduate program at a university in the United States or Puerto Rico

Ford Blue Oval Scholarship
July 2, 2012How to Apply: Complete the application that fits your major.
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of Hispanic background
- Must be a rising or current undergraduate student, or pursuing a Masters in Business Administration at an accredited college or university
- Must be enrolled for full-time study
- Must be in good academic standing with a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Must demonstrate financial need

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
July 2, 2012Program Overview
The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program (Gilman Program) enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to our national security and economic prosperity. To be eligible for the Gilman Program, applicants must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during the term of their study abroad program or internship. The Institute of International Education has administered the program since its inception in 2001.
Award Benefits
Nearly 3,000 scholarships of up to $5,000 will be awarded this academic year for U.S. citizen undergraduates to study or intern abroad.

- Contact information of three references from professional journalists, professors, advisors who are familiar with your journalistic work. Letters are not required.
- Five samples of your best work in any of the formats below. Make sure your work samples highlight your reporting, editing, and/or producing skills. Force and Motion Travel Scholarships
July 2, 2012The Force and Motion Foundation and AMTI are offering several $500 travel awards to aid students with costs associated with attendance at scientific conferences. New for this review cycle, AMTI will be directly offering Travel Awards to students at universities and colleges outside of the United States!
Applicants must upload a scientific poster related to force measurement and testing to the Foundation’s Virtual Poster Session and complete a travel award application.
All submitted posters will be judged by the review boards based on quality, contribution, and innovation. Travel scholarship recipients will be posted on ForceAndMotion.org and notified at the e-mail address associated with their user account.
Every uploaded poster may be used to apply for one current or future travel scholarship; however, each student is only allowed one application per review cycle.
South Texas Academic Rising Scholars Scholarships
July 2, 2012South Texas Academic Rising Scholars (STARS) is dedicated to providing successful futures for local students. STARS was established to offer South Texas students equal opportunity for advancement in higher education. Scholarships provide deserving students the ability to achieve success at the college of their choice.
