Welcome

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is proud to present HOME—an on-campus, overnight program designed for talented, high achieving high school seniors who are from underrepresented cultural backgrounds. It’s a unique opportunity to get a first-hand look at what life at Johns Hopkins is all about, inside and outside of the classroom.

HOME takes place in conjunction with our fall Open House program on Saturday, October 19. All students participating in the HOME program will also enjoy Open House activities. (Please note: Students who are accepted to the HOME program will need to register separately for the Open House. More details will be given in your confirmation e-mail).

Application

Students applying to attend the HOME program must also submit a transcript, SAT/ACT scores (if available), and a recommendation to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The recommendation form can be found here. Transcripts, SAT/ACT scores, and recommendations can be faxed to the attention of: HOME Coordinator at (443) 451-6971 or e-mailed to home.program@jhu.edu. Please note that enrollment for the program is on a space-available basis and submitting an online application does not guarantee program participation. Participation in HOME is not a reflection of any admissions decision and students who do not attend will not be negatively impacted in the admissions process.

Accommodations

Students attending the HOME program are invited to stay overnight in a residence hall room with a current Johns Hopkins student host for the duration of the program. If you have any special requirements, please let us know on your registration form. If your parents would like to visit the campus during your stay for the HOME program, they will need to arrange their own accommodations (see Information for Parents below).

Information for Parents

The HOME program is specifically geared toward prospective students in their senior year of high school. Parents are invited to participate in the Open House on Saturday, October 19. (Please note that separate registration is required for the Open House program.)

We do ask that parents provide their own accommodations if staying overnight. Click here for a list of area hotels.

Travel Information

Limited monetary travel assistance is available for qualified students. More information on how to request monetary travel assistance for HOME will be provided to students who are accepted for the program.
