College Match

Because of the number of inquiries that we receive from high school seniors seeking guidance during the college admissions and financial aid processes, we can provide a one-time review of a student’s body of work and provide a comprehensive recommendation based on our experiences in the college admissions and financial aid processes.

Students must provide the following documents:

  1. Copy of their most recent high school transcript
  2. Copy of their highest SAT/ACT Score reports
  3. Copy of their résumé
  4. Copy of their college admissions essay
  5. Their list of colleges, in ranked order (maximum of 5 colleges)
  6. A statement of their family’s financial need

We will do the following within 72 hours:

  1. Review the student’s documents and provide our assessment of the student’s strengths and weaknesses within the context of their desired colleges
  2. Provide our assessment of how the student matches to their college list
  3. Provide our assessment of the student’s essay and the essay prompt to which the student is responding
  4. Provide our recommendation as to actions the student might undertake to strengthen their ‘Self-Presentation’
  5. Arrange 3 times from which you may choose for a 1-hour conference call to discuss our assessment.

Award Letter Review

Many colleges provide financial aid award letters that are confusing to understand and which fail to disclose sufficient information to guide students in making huge financial decisions. Poor decisions can result in a student, and his or her family, assuming thousands of dollars in student loan debt.

For a financial aid award letter review, students must provide the following documents:

  1. A copy of all financial aid award letters received (maximum of 5 colleges)
  2. A copy of all supporting documentation pertaining to institutional awards and grants
  3. A copy of all financial aid related documentation from each of the colleges under review
  4. A copy of their Student Aid Report
  5. A statement of their family’s financial need

We will do the following within 72 hours:

  1. Review the student’s financial aid documents and provide our assessment of the estimated cost of attendance for each college
  2. Provide our assessment of sources of aid that are not guaranteed renewable
  3. Provide our assessment of the financial aid gap reflecting the estimated cost of attendance prior to assuming student loans
  4. Arrange 3 times from which you may choose for a 1-hour conference call to discuss our assessment.

Note: We are not Certified Financial Planners and do not provide financial or tax guidance. The scope of our guidance is pertinent to reviewing and explaining the financial aid award letters received by the student for each of the colleges under review. Our College Match review is based on our experiences in the college admissions process, but does not guarantee a particular outcome or that students will receive an offer of admission.
