Overview
We provide academic coaching for students in grades 6 – 11 to assist students in earning higher grades and test scores to expand students’ college and scholarship opportunities, and reduce families’ reliance on student loans to pay for college.
We provide 1-on-1 consultation and support for high school seniors and their families.
In our meetings with students and parents, we discuss:
- Scholarship pathways
- How to leverage athletics into non-athletic scholarships
- High school course taking
- The impact of course taking, grades, and test scores on being competitive for merit scholarships
- Unique opportunities at HBCUs and HBCU-specific scholarship opportunities
- Examples of real students and their scholarship pathways
- The importance on intentionally building a résumé and transitioning to a CV

Our Approach
Our approach to advising is holistic. We are preparing students to become better students and thereby expanding their college and scholarship opportunities.
We believe that college planning begins by providing 1-on-1 guidance through academic coaching to assist students in earning high grades and test scores (e.g., AP, PSAT, SAT, ACT) by:
- Assessing each student’s current approach to learning
- Increasing student efficacy by providing the skills and tools to maximize both in-class learning and at-home study
- Inspiring intrinsically motivated and engaged learners
- Converting students’ daily notes into flashcards to support at-home study and 1-on-1 review
- Developing the academic foundation for enrolling in more rigorous classes
