The typical student is has a much greater familiarity with research universities, such as the University of Georgia, University of North Carolina, University of South Carolina – Columbia, UCLA, or the University of Texas than with such liberal arts colleges as Williams, Amherst, Grinnell, Swarthmore, or Bowdoin. However, co-op programs, honors colleges, and dual degree programs, in addition to community colleges offer an array of college experiences from which to choose.
