Nature and the Environment (Naturalist): Gifts reflected in a highly developed sense of plants, animals, weather patterns, and the natural environment. Such students enjoy being and working outdoors, and watching birds, insects, and animals. They also enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, camping, fishing, exploring, and rock climbing.

In the first video, an 11-year-old rock climber demonstrates an highly developed intelligence in not only developing the physical ability (bodily/kinesthetic), but the ability to recognize rock formations (naturalist) as she navigates her way up the side of a mountain.

In the second video, animal trainers provide examples of the naturalist intelligence in working with animals in various natural habitats.
