Aviation Career Education Camp: The Organization of Black Airline Pilots (OBAP) will hold 2 FREE
camps sponsored by Delta Air Lines. The purpose of each one-week program is to introduce interested youth to the world of
aviation by exposing them to the many challenging careers and opportunities which the aviation industry has to offer.
The age range is for boys and girls between 14-18 years old.
Application deadline is June 2, 2008.

2008 CDC Disease Detective Campers: The National Center for Health Marketing's Global Health Odyssey is pleased to offer the
2008 CDC Disease Detective Camp (DDC). DDC is an academic day camp for students who will be high school juniors and seniors
during the 2008-2009 school year. Over the course of a week, campers will take on the roles of disease detectives and learn
how CDC safeguards the nation's health. Activities vary by day and may include short lectures by CDC experts, a mock press
conference in the CDC press room, a look behind the scenes of CDC, and other hands-on activities. Campers will learn the methodologies
used to track diseases in populations, basic lab procedures used in an infectious disease lab, and how public health research
is applied at CDC.
The CDC Disease Detective Camp will be offered twice during the summer of 2008: July 7-11 and July 21-25. Both sessions
will offer the same activities and will last from 9:00AM-4:00PM. There is no cost associated with attending the camp, but
each camper is responsible for bringing or buying his/her lunch.

CDC Disease Detective Camp
National Bar Association Crump Law Camp: A two-week camp established by the National Bar Association to provide students entering
the ninth through eleventh grades (between the ages of 14 and 17) with an introduction to the American judicial system.
Participants will be housed on the campus of Howard University and live in a protected campus environment.

Disney's Dreamers Academy: Disney's Dreamers Academy with Steve Harvey, an event created to inspire and enrich
high school students, will return to Walt Disney World® Resort on February 12 to February 15, 2009. One hundred teens from across the country with big aspirations will
be participating. They'll pack their bags — and their dreams — and head to Walt Disney World® Resort, where they'll learn about careers in a variety of exciting areas
of business and entertainment.
The Disney's Dreamers Academy of 2009 will be composed of teens selected from a pool of nominees. The nominating process takes place between September
1 and September 30, 2008. Teens who are enrolled in high school for the 2008-2009 term and who are aged 14 and older can be
nominated by anyone, including parents, guardians, teachers, church members, social organization members and even by themselves.
A high GPA is not required, but students must exhibit a desire to learn and to excel, benefiting from the additional motivational
support the Academy offers.

Hiphop Literacies: The purpose of the Summer Residential Program is to help students develop the critical thinking
skills necessary for success in high school, higher education, and beyond. By focusing on aspects of the African American
experience both locally and abroad, program participants will gain an understanding of how the social, economic, political,
and moral implications of blackness affect the lives of all Americans.
Haverford
College: Summer Science Institutes
The Summer Science
Institute at Haverford College is an intensive, five-week introduction to college-level science study for incoming first-year
students. With the help
over over fifteen Haverford professors, administrators, and staff members, HSSI students participate in seminar-like courses
and lab modules in Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, and Writing.
This program gives students broad exposure to the richness of the study of science at Haverford,
and an opportunity to hone their critical thinking skills in a supportive environment. The residential component of the program
allows the participants to learn how to balance the academic and social components of their college education. HSSI seeks highly-motivated students
who come from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in the sciences, or who come from families with little or no
college experience.
Hiphop Literacies at Ohio State
LEAD: For its first summer, LEAD Engineering will focus on tenth grade students, split evenly by gender. Summer 2009 will
be a continuation of studies for the students and take place on the same campuses launched in 2008. The overall SEI rollout
will include the launch of four additional program locations in 2009 and an increase of two programs each summer from 2010
through 2012. LEAD executives are currently meeting with administrators at additional top 50 engineering programs to determine
partners for 2009 and 2010.

Summer Academy of Performing Arts 2008. Youth ages 6-16 will explore the art of dance (ballet, modern, jazz, African)
and expand their knowledge of traditional spirituals, black performing art pioneers, and Broadway Musicals. Students will
also participate in a daily mandatory academic enrichment hour. The summer will culminate with a production.

Summer Institute of Robotics (SIR. Morgan State University/NASA Goddard Summer Institute of Robotics (SIR) holds two 2-week
residential programs at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD, for students enrolled in 9th through 12th grades. SIR is
designed to provide opportunities to learn and discover the science and technology of robot design and operation.

$450 for each session.
